About the role
The Mechatronics Engineer, in consultation with the Chief Product Engineering Officer (CPEO), will initially develop the testbed system and interface to demonstrate ultra-low microfluidic control of the Fertilis consumable. With their understanding of complex electro-mechanical systems, they will develop the supporting hardware technology needed to successfully deliver the Fertilis medical device to market.
About you
· Strong track record in design and development of complex electro-mechanical systems, preferably within the Bioscience / medical devices sector
· Specialist design skills in systems for microfluidic control
· Experience with designing instrument interfaces and control systems for consumables including imaging, thermal, and gas-controlled environments
· Demonstrated experience working with a cross functional product development team, experience in Agile software development
· Experience in all stages of product development from concept through to manufacturing establishment and launch
· Understanding of product development processes and Quality Management Systems, experience with ISO13485 and ISO14971 essential; IEC62304 and IEC62366 highly desirable
· University degree in Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
· Experience in Assisted Reproduction Technologies and / or cell culture technologies highly advantageous
